Impact & Context

Impact & Context

The Impact

Dapper Property Group had no owned digital presence before this project, relying primarily on referrals and direct introductions. Its owner, Tim Chmielewski, brought me in to design and launch the business's first website, built to close new clients directly and double as a portfolio of executed work.

Highlights

  • First owned digital presence: Designed and launched DPG's first website, moving the business off referrals-only into a measurable acquisition channel.

  • Three service journeys, one structure: Organized renovations, property development, and investment into clear, distinct customer journeys instead of one generic offering.

  • Credibility built for high-value decisions: Nine project case studies, before-and-after comparisons, testimonials, and detailed development pages built the trust required for six and seven-figure property decisions.

  • Measurement framework defined pre-launch: Connected traffic, service interest, portfolio engagement, form submissions, qualified leads, consultations, and new customers, so the business could evaluate the platform on commercial outcomes from day one.

Organizational Context

  • Product strategy: Defined by DPG's owner, Tim Chmielewski, to build the business's first digital presence, one that could close new clients directly and double as a portfolio of executed work.

  • Discovery & UX research: Grounded in stakeholder alignment on DPG's three service areas, a full audit of existing photography, testimonials, and technical documentation, and a review of comparable property and development businesses, since there was no existing site or analytics to evaluate.

  • Metrics: Real, first-party site analytics: 7,920 unique visitors and 166 new contacts in the first six months, a 2.1% enquiry conversion rate, with organic search accounting for 44% of traffic.

  • Processes: A single designer working across strategy, discovery, UX, and visual design, with 3 developers on build, over a 4-month engagement in 2025.

Design Challenge

Design Challenge

Dapper Property Group had built a business on referrals and direct introductions, with no owned digital presence to represent three distinct, complex service areas: renovations, property development, and investment. With no existing website or behavioural data to work from, I grounded discovery in stakeholder alignment, a portfolio and testimonial audit, and a review of comparable property businesses. That research surfaced three audience groups, renovation clients, buyers and development partners, and investors, who all needed answers to the same four questions before making contact: what DPG does, whether it's relevant to them, whether the team can be trusted with a high-value project, and what the next step is. The challenge was designing a single site that could answer all four, for three very different audiences, without collapsing into a generic construction brochure.

The Result

The Result

Four experience principles came out of discovery: differentiate the three services clearly, demonstrate quality through real work, explain the process before asking for commitment, and provide a consistent, low-friction path to enquiry. I translated those into the site's information architecture: dedicated journeys for each service, nine detailed project stories, before-and-after comparisons, specifications and testimonials as evidence, and contextual calls to action connecting every stage of consideration to the enquiry form. Because the site represented a new acquisition channel, I also defined its measurement framework before launch, connecting traffic, service interest, portfolio engagement, form submissions, qualified leads, consultations, and new customers, so DPG could evaluate the platform on commercial outcomes, not just visual engagement.

Success Framework

Success Framework

Within the first six months of launch, the website became a measurable acquisition channel where DPG had none before, replacing informal referrals with a structured, trackable path from first visit to signed contract. The framework below tracks that path end to end, traffic and conversion, pipeline quality, revenue impact, and demand insight, using real, first-party site data rather than modeled projections.

Traffic & Conversion

7,920 visitors generated 166 contacts, with organic search driving 44% of traffic.

Qualified Pipeline

Of 166 contacts, 69 qualified and 35 progressed to consultations.

Revenue Impact

9 consultations converted into customers, influencing >120,000€ over six months.

Demand Insight

Renovations made up 64% of demand, shaping DPG's marketing and priorities.

Personal Reflection

Personal Reflection

What I learned most on Dapper was that luxury isn't communicated by adding more, it's earned through restraint, and that restraint had to work harder here because the site was replacing referrals, not supplementing them. With no existing site or analytics to lean on, discovery meant building an understanding of three very different audiences from scratch, then finding the questions they all shared: what DPG does, whether it's relevant, whether the team can be trusted, and what happens next. Every decision, typography, imagery, motion, spacing, existed to answer those questions with restraint instead of noise. Seeing that translate into a real pipeline, contacts, qualified opportunities, consultations, signed contracts, was proof that a restrained design system doesn't just look right, it performs.

Product Vision & Next Steps

Product Vision &
Next Steps

The next phase is evolving DPG's website from its first digital presence into a more targeted acquisition and lead-qualification platform. With 64% of initial enquiries relating to renovations, the immediate opportunity is strengthening that journey through more detailed case studies, location-specific landing pages, and content addressing process, budgets, and timelines, with campaigns directing property owners to tailored renovation experiences instead of the general homepage. Enquiry volume alone won't drive the roadmap though, renovation demand will be weighed against lead quality, conversion rate, project value, profitability, and operational capacity, since development and investment generate fewer enquiries but represent significantly higher-value opportunities. Planned next steps include a more detailed project enquiry and qualification flow, consultation requests, portfolio filtering by service, property type, and location, stronger development and investment content for high-value audiences, CRM integration to track consultation, customer, and contract outcomes, and multilingual content for Portuguese and international customers. The long-term vision is for the site to become an intelligent business-development platform: attracting the right audiences, demonstrating relevant experience, qualifying opportunities, and helping DPG understand which services and markets generate the greatest commercial value.
